According to a recent Headspace report on the Workforce State of Mind, 4 out of 5 workers say their extreme stress levels primarily can be blamed on their work.
This jives with what I frequently hear my clients say - which is that their work is a huge obstacle when they are trying to make healthy changes in their lives.
Just think about it. If you are too busy, have too long of a commute, or feel mentally, physically or emotionally impacted by the work, then it's not easy to make positive changes stick.
So I recently launched a podcast episode specifically addressing job toxicity.
When I left my full-time corporate job to go Ayurveda school in 2013, one of the things I had to figure out was how much of my stress was really from my job, and how much of it I was creating myself. This is a question that took some time to answer, and I’m grateful I had guides in the process.
I hope this podcast episode gives you some ideas about what you can do about job toxicity, whether you’re feeling an urge to run off to a yoga retreat, find your true calling in life, or just feel better in your body every day.
